Product Description The next-generation Remote Interactive Dock for the iPod, the DS-A2x, brings the iPod even closer to Onkyo's world. With the ability to accommodate video files alongside audio, the DS-A2x brings out the full potential of the latest iPod models combined with Onkyo A/V sound quality. Also, with an on-screen display function enabling you to view music track lists, this Dock ensures easy navigation through your music options via its dedicated remote control. The DS-A2x's cradle-type build - with an easily color-matched black exterior - neatly supports the iPod, and even recharges while the Dock remains connected to an AC power supply. And like its predecessor, the DS-A1, it brings you even more functions to choose from when connected through an Onkyo component's Remote Interactive (RI) terminal.

Onkyo IPod Dock September 6, 2007 M. Curtis 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
The Ipod Dock has been great. I hooked it up to my Onkyo sr605 receiver, and it makes listening to the IPod selection of music easy. Installation was simple, and it works through all of the normal menus, etc. You can choose any input on the receiver, and use as the dock instead. I am distributing through whole home audio as well with no issues. It is also nice bc i can go back and forth b/w multiple ipods and they all drop right in the dock.
Excellent for audio March 10, 2008 A. Altman (San Carlos, California United States) 17 out of 20 found this review helpful
I've got an iPod Classic 80. I wanted a BLACK, well-made, good looking dock that has a LINE-OUT to my stereo that bypasses the iPod volume control. I also wanted a small, easy to use remote. Done deal. This dock is the ticket. You have to ignore the other functionality, but for this price that's ok. The Apple a/c adaptor alone would cost you $30. Here you get the whole package for $74. IMPORTANT: this dock's external video will not be compatable with the newest video ipods (since roughly Sept 2007). Also, this dock works fine without any external Onkyo gear, but you don't get the functionality such as timer, volume control of stereo with the dock's remote, etc unless you have Onkyo gear. I'm more of an audiophile and aim higher than Onkyo. BOTTOM LINE: works great as an audio line out dock, and it includes the a/c adaptor, so it's a good deal!!! Caution: the included RCA cables just did not sound good at all. Even inexpensive Monster cables sound MUCH better. I almost returned the dock until I tried some alternative cables.
Good but expensive product December 12, 2008 Pradeep Sekar 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
The iPod dock is quite expensive for what it does - let you take out a stereo audio signal from your iPod. The Video out is quite useless - the menus are a shame to look at on the TV, after the gorgeous ones on the screen of the iPod itself. But... the black dock works like a charm, so easy to set up, has a useful remote, charges my iPod, looks neat next to my home theatre setup, and is less expensive than the white Apple dock. For Onkyo home theatre owners, an R1 signal permits you to control everything with a single remote - but I use my Harmony 880 which does the job well enough with my Sony Home Theatre.
After scouring Amazon and other sites for a good iPod dock to connect to my Home Theatre system, this is the one dock I found fit my need best. And Amazon's price was the lowest.
Onkyo comes through again April 7, 2008 C. Clark (Sunny Florida, USA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This product works exactly as described. The set up was breeze and I was initially concerned because of the age of my equipment. However, I have not experienced any issues. I would highly recommend this product to all ONKYO and iPod lovers like me.
Gotta Have Add-on To Onkyo Home Theatre January 9, 2008 C. Grabowich (Flemington, NJ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Works great, no issues. If you have an iPod library you like to listen to this add-on is a must have. Visual interface on the TV is very basic but functions well. Onkyo and Apple need to partner up and get the beautiful iPod interface with album art right onto the TV rather than the pixelated white on black block type with no album art images. Easy to set up and a good little remote. Great system upgrade.
